In order to truly enjoy the splendor of the Inca trail trek to Machu Picchu, you will need to prepare in advance. It is not as taxing physically as a Mount Everest Base camp trek, but you will need to be fairly fit and well able to walk up and down many steps. All of us are trying to find time to spend with our family without interruptions from all of today’s modern technology that constantly inundates us with texts, emails and ringing cell phones. You will need to get some camping equipment like tents, sleeping bags and cooking equipment. Families have two options when it comes to their tents. You can get large cheap tents or a couple of smaller tents like a 2 man tent. Either allows you to have some space while camping. A large tent with multiple rooms can be used as separate rooms for the parents or kids. If you have older kids you might want to opt for a couple of smaller tents so that you both have more space.
Camping offers a peaceful getaway, although it might be interrupted occasionally, with family dynamics. However, it takes all of those noisy devices out of the picture. Sitting around the campfire roasting hot dogs and marshmallows is as relaxing as it gets and when you add in the serene setting of rivers, mountains or the beach you are creating the perfect platform to create family memories.
You also might be wondering where to go camping. There are plenty of National Parks and State Parks and even private campgrounds to go to. Everyone has their own preference about what scenes they like. For example, one might want to visit the beach another might want to see the desert. The National Park and State Park system has whatever type of environment you enjoy and are easy to find. Sit down together as a family and find out where you each would like to go. Camping is inexpensive enough that you can take a couple of weekends and make everyone happy by visiting all the places your family wants to see. By allowing everyone to participate in the process you are creating another opportunity to grow together as a family and create family memories, so you don’t have to wait until you get to the campground to start building memories.
